Materials and Methods
- Elmer's Washable Glue (Blue Glue)
- Iodine
- Scotch Tape
- Two hot irons
- Scissors
- CD cases
Procedure
- Poured Elmer's Glue into small cd cases and allowed to dry overnight
- Took scissors and cut into rectangular peices
- Put dried glue between the two irons and stretched until a part of the rectangular glue became clear
- Took a little bit of iodine and evenly distributed it over the clear part of the dried glue
- Took small strip of Scotch Tape and taped it behind the opposite side of the iodine
- Polarizer was made
Observations
- Dried glue broke several times when strecthed between the two irons
- Polarizer was brown and when turned, become black
- When yellow iodine was painted onto the clear part of the glue, it turned brown
